OKADA & HARADA : SHARE HOTEL LYURO TOKYO, Kiyosumishirakawa

OKADA & HARADA : SHARE HOTEL LYURO TOKYO, Kiyosumishirakawa

“Just as we've been welcomed by the natives of Fukagawa, we want to bring the tourists closer to the people of Fukagawa”

All kinds of people, such as neighborhood residents who came here for walks, tourists from foreign countries and hotel guests, are standing side by side to admire the river. Many people other than the hotel guests come to the terrace of the "shared hotel" called "LYURO" which was opened at the base of the Kiyosu Bridge. With the BBQ restaurant by PITMANS and the Brewery, "Kiyosu Bridge Brewery" inside, it seems to be crowded every day.

Naoko Okada who was in charge of the concept and design for launching the hotel says, "I want you to stay here at least once if you have the opportunity."
She continues that the best attractions are the river view, unique to this location, and the private rooms whose bathrooms command the panoramic view of the Sumida River. She adds that when you are enjoying your bath in such a bathroom, you experience the illusion that you are being gently swayed by the river. Moreover, when you stay in this hotel, not only will you thoroughly enjoy your stay, you will be able to experience what can only be experienced here.

Ms.Tomoko Harada was in charge of communication with the community at the launching of the hotel. Having visited various areas in her work, she is convinced that "festivals constitute the foundation for fostering the people and the communities." She continues that this is true with Fukagawa. Being extremely caring, the people of Fukagawa lose no time in extending their hands to welcome any newcomers who shows any interest in joining them. You feel in their enthusiastic welcome to all outsiders the magnanimous spirit of the "Edokko (natives of old Tokyo)" and the "Fukagawakko (natives of Fukagawa)".
"We were fortunate to have those who were deeply rooted in this area interested in our event," she adds with a smile.

The city grows with the stimulation from the outside. Having arrived in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, LYURO will take the opportunity to bring the visitors closer together with the city. Now I am planning an event consisting running around the city while enjoying the view of Sumida River and visiting the local coffee shops. I wonder what kind of "chemical change" will start from here?
