East Tokyo area is a hot spot for cake shops known by only those in the know, because it’s very near to Ginza where there are many sweet factories and sweet shop outlets. Patisserie ours is especially popular among the locals, despite its location not being so ideal. Many customers walk in and directly talk to Takeshi about their orders for children’s birthday cakes, baked confectionery for weddings, or celebration sweets for family. Cakes made here use jersey’s fresh cream and the season’s freshest fruit and eggs sourced from all over Japan.
Takashi Fukuyama, the owner of Patisserie ours, was raised by two chefs. At first, he also dreamed of being a chef one day, however he decided that being a patissier wasn’t very attractive after all and changed his mind. After graduating from culinary school, he began working at a cake shop in Monzen-Nakacho, then he transferred to another cake factory in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. That’s the reason why he has many long-term fans of his cakes around here. “OUR” means “bear” in French, and is likening the owner to a bear. He always welcomes you with a big, warm smile and fabulous sweets.
